Reminissit

Terms of Service

Effective August 23, 2026 · Last updated August 23, 2026

These terms govern your use of reminissit.com and the Reminissit application, operated by Reminissit LLC ("Reminissit," "we," "us"). By using the Service, you agree to them.

1.Who can use Reminissit

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You may record and invite family members of any age, subject to the consent requirements in Section 4. If you're using Reminissit on behalf of an organization, you confirm you're authorized to accept these terms for it.

2.Your account

Reminissit does not use passwords. You sign in with a one-time code sent to your email address or phone number. You're responsible for keeping access to that email account or phone number secure, and for activity that happens under your account. Tell us at hello@reminissit.com if you think someone else has gained access.

3.Your content

You own your recordings. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership of your content to us.

To operate the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit, encode, and display your content — solely to provide Reminissit to you and the family members you share it with, and to create backups. This licence exists only so we can run the product. It ends when you delete the content, subject to the retention windows in our Privacy Policy.

We will not use your recordings to train machine learning models, sell them, license them, or use them in marketing. If we ever want to feature a family's story publicly, we'll ask that family first and won't proceed without written permission.

4.Recording other people

Reminissit is designed so that one person can record another. That capability comes with an obligation you take on, not one we can take on for you.

Before recording anyone, you must make sure that person knows they're being recorded, understands the recording will be stored by Reminissit, and understands who in the family may hear it. If they ask you to stop or to delete a recording, you must do so. Where you record a minor, you're responsible for obtaining consent from that child's parent or legal guardian.

Recording laws vary by state and country, and some require the consent of every person in the conversation. You're responsible for complying with the laws that apply to you.

5.Acceptable use

Don't use Reminissit to:

6.Vaults, roles, and sharing

Each vault has an owner. The owner and other Keepers can invite members, assign roles, and remove access. If you're invited to a vault, the person who invited you controls what you can see and can revoke your access at any time.

Recordings shared with you belong to the vault, not to you personally. If your access is removed, or the vault is deleted by its owner, you lose access to that content. If a recording matters to you, keep your own copy using the download option.

7.Beta and availability

Reminissit is in active development. Beta versions may contain defects, features may change or be withdrawn, and we may impose usage limits. We aim for high reliability but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may modify or discontinue parts of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we'll give you reasonable notice and a way to export your recordings.

8.Fees

Some features may require a paid subscription. Pricing, billing intervals, and refund terms will be disclosed before you're charged. Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by that store's billing and refund policies in addition to these terms.

9.Termination

You can stop using Reminissit and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these terms, that creates risk or legal exposure for us or other users, or that has been inactive for an extended period, after notice where practical. Sections 3, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.

10.Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We take durability seriously and design for it, but no storage system is infallible. Keep your own copies of recordings that are irreplaceable to you. Reminissit is a place to keep and share them — it should not be your only copy.

11.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Reminissit will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or one hundred US dollars.

Some jurisdictions don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service develops. We'll revise the date at the top, and for material changes we'll notify you by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated terms.

13.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state and federal courts located in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and you and Reminissit each consent to that jurisdiction.
