About Reminissit
Reminissit is an audio-first family memory vault. We help families record, preserve, and share the voices of the people they love — one question at a time.
Why we exist
Most families end up with photographs. Very few end up with voices. A photograph shows you what someone looked like; a recording gives you back how they paused before answering, what made them laugh, the particular way they said your name.
Nearly half of Americans say they regret not recording a loved one before that person died. The tools to do it have existed for years. The problem was never the technology — it was that nobody knew what to ask, and nobody wanted to make the moment feel like an interview.
How it works
Reminissit is built around a simple idea: one person in the family sets things up, and everyone else just talks.
- Keepers create the family vault, choose questions, and sit with the person being recorded.
- Storytellers answer. They don't need an account, an app, or any comfort with technology — a Keeper can run the whole session on their behalf.
- Listeners are the family members who receive the recordings and can return to them whenever they want.
The questions matter more than the software. Ours are short, open, and impossible to answer with a single word — the kind that get someone talking without making them feel examined. Storytellers can answer in whatever language they think in; nothing is lost in translation because nothing gets translated.
The recording itself is the artifact. It isn't raw material for a printed book or a video montage. It's the voice, kept as it was said.
Who's behind it
Reminissit was founded by Alexandria Currie and is operated by Reminissit LLC, a limited liability company registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States.
The product started with two people: a grandmother who doesn't own a phone and would never have set up an account on her own, and a father who would want those recordings more than anything else she could leave behind. Every core decision — the facilitated recording model, the fact that a Storyteller never needs to log in — traces back to them.
Where we are
Reminissit is in active development, with a limited beta planned for late 2026. If you'd like to be part of it, join the list — we'll send one email when we launch, and nothing else.
